Let's talk budget!

Congratulations you're engaged! After you adjust to the idea that you are going to be married (yippee!) one of the very first things you should do is talk to your beau about your overall wedding budget. First things first who is paying for your wedding? You? Your parents? Your future hubby? Make sure you're both comfortable with your decision! Now that you have decided how to fund your big day, decide on the budget that is right for you and the type of wedding you want! Once I had my budget all figured out I went to weddingwire.com which is a great site that calculates your budget! A budget calculator breaks down your overall budget and tells you where you can spend and where you should save, unless you have unlimited funds it is a much suggested tool! The best part? It's FREE!!

Best wishes on finding the perfect budget for your perfect day!

Side Note:

Talking about money can be very uncomfortable for some people, don't be harsh or demanding when talking to your fiance and your families. Keep it lighthearted and friendly! Thinking of talking with both of your families at the same time? Don't introduce your families to talk about their contribution as a group, it could cause tension. Instead visit with one family at a time to listen to their ideas and input and possibly their contributions!

How it all began!

Reading is a great passion of mine so when I received the call from Borders that I got the job I wanted I was ecstatic! On the fated day Aug. 22nd 2008 I met Nate who was then my new found adorable co-worker. As time went on Nate and I became friends. We recommended books to one another and watched silly movies together. Before either of us knew it we had grown to care about each other much more than about what books we were reading. When Nate told me he was moving to Tampa, FL (which is about two hours from my hometown of DeLand, FL) I was almost hurt. So hurt and sad I wrote Nate off for about three weeks. Finally I called him and was so happy to hear that he had moved back to Daytona because his dog didn't get along with his roommates dog (We are dog lovers! In fact I adopted Nate's dog with him before he moved). We had our first real date that week when Nate surprised me with a quiet night on the jetty in Ponce Inlet, FL. We had a romantic kiss under the stars and we fell in love that night. Two years later Nate walked me out to the jetty at sunset and we spent moments remembering our first date. All of the sudden he was bent on one knee holding the most beautiful ring asking if I would be his wife! This is how it all began!!
